SAFETY IS THE FIRST AND FOREMOST CONCERN OF THE MOLALLA RIFLE CLUB. ANY VIOLATION SUBJECTS THE VIOLATOR TO IMMEDIATE SUSPENSION AND POSSIBLE EXPULSION FROM THE CLUB! GUN HANDLING RULES:
1. ALWAYS KEEP THE MUZZLE OF THE FIREARM IN A SAFE DIRECTION!
2. KEEP YOUR FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER, and outside the trigger guard, until ready to fire or until the command "Commence Firing" has been given.
3. KEEP THE ACTION OPEN AND FIREARM UNLOADED UNTIL READY TO USE. On the range, this means the shooters are in position on the firing line and the range has been cleared for live firing.
4. KNOW HOW YOUR FIREARM WORKS!
5. BE SURE THE FIREARM AND AMMUNITION ARE COMPATIBLE!
6. CARRY ONLY ONE GAUGE/CALIBER OF AMMUNITION WHEN SHOOTING. When shooting with more than one firearm, use one at a time and when complete, store that firearm and it's ammunition before using the next one.
GENERAL RANGE RULES:
1. Know and obey all range commands.
2. Know where others are at all times.
3. Shoot only at authorized targets.
4. Ground level targets are not authorized.
5. Designate a range officer when none is present or assigned.
6. Unload, open the action, remove the magazine and ground and/or bench all firearms during a cease fire.
7. DO NOT handle any firearms or stand at the firing line where firearms are present while others are down range.
8. Always keep the muzzle pointed at the backstop or bullet trap. Never allow the muzzle to point in any direction whereby an inadvertent discharge would allow the escape of a projectile into an outer area.
9. Ear and eye protection are required to be worn at all times during firing. Be sure that ALL fellow shooters have protection installed before firing.
10. Firearms and alcohol do not mix! Alcoholic beverages or persons under the influence thereof are absolutely prohibited.
SPECIFIC RANGE RULES AND REGULATIONS
1. Due to lead containment issues, FIRING WHICH RESULTS IN IMPACT INTO ANY AREA OTHER THAN CONSTRUCTED AUTHORIZED BACKSTOPS IS ABSOLUTELY PROHIBITED!
2. Rules for shotguns use are under review. Until such time as the range facility and rules are developed and published, USE OF SHOTGUNS IS PROHIBITED.
3. Tracer and steel core ammunition (armor piercing) are strictly prohibited.

7. Remove all refuse when you leave the range; targets, ammo cartons, pop cans, etc. LEAVE THE RANGE CLEANER THAN WHEN YOU ARRIVED.
8. The Red "range in use" flag will be hoisted before any firing begins (when installed).
9. Members observing violations to the range rules will report them with as full details as possible to a member of the board of directors as soon as possible.

11. Vehicular safety is important! Members will maintain a 15 MPH speed on the road to the range within the gate.
12. FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH ANY, OR ALL, OF THESE RULES WILL MEAN IMMEDIATE EJECTION FROM THE RANGE, AND POSSIBLE EXPULSION FROM MEMBERSHIP IN THE MOLALLA RIFLE CLUB!
